Housing: machined and plated brass (or stainless steel) body providing high corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical protection.
Shield contact: A metallised clamping insert or contact spring inside the gland ensures 360° continuous electrical contact between the cable’s braided/foil shield and the gland body/housing.
Sealing & ingress protection: Designed with O-ring and elastomeric seals (e.g., EPDM ) to provide dust and water protection—commonly rated to IP68 (and in some designs to IP69).
Electromagnetic shielding function: The gland provides a conductive path from the cable shield to the equipment enclosure (or grounding point), acting effectively as part of a Faraday cage to prevent EMI ingress or egress.
Mounting: Available in metric, PG, or NPT thread versions; quick-fitting models allow simplified assembly without shield separation.
Operating environment: Suitable for industrial applications including automation, power, communication equipment, rail, marine, etc. Typical temperature range: -40 °C to +100 °C (static) and ~-20 °C to +80 °C (dynamic) in some products.
